Initially set in Queens, New York at the turn of the 20th Century, a young family with a promising future finds themselves struggling to deal with the medical and mental health demands of an epileptic newborn. Floundering and adrift, their search for answers and understanding carries them from the modern urban center of New York to a derelict farm in remote Connecticut where they hope to find refuge and healing for their family.
