Hans Christian Andersen was a prominent and versatile Danish author. He wrote numerous plays, novels, and poems, but he is best remembered for his fairy tales. Children throughout the world for more than 100 years have been fascinated by his stories which teach useful lessons to all who read them. He lived from 1805 to 1875.
