They say that when it rains, it pours. And pour it surely did that day. I'll never forget it. One moment it was all sunny and bright. The next, it was raining so hard if the drops weren't made of water, certainly they would be like bullets. So it seemed with my life, since minutes after the raindrops began to fall, disaster struck in my life. Hello there. My name is Susan Carmichael and this is the story of how I became a number. Just a drop in the bucket of that pail that was outside of my house, collecting the rain that day. Just one part of the numbers that make up the "victims". One of the dead.
