Teaching the ocean literacy principles are going to prove to be a challenge this learning season at Crustacean University. A mysterious outbreak of dead zones has been appearing on Crustacean Island and is spreading throughout the Crustacean world. With reports of a strange Doctor that calls himself Dr. Debris. And with a class of seven misfit students starting today is sure to keep Dean Crusty's bottle of aspirin empty. The Research team, Scuba Scooter and Surfer Joe along with their assistant Molly, has offered to help Dean Critter this initiation while they are in between investigating these new dead zones. While they do, he creates "Critter Crab Lab" a place where science magic is made. The trio along with a few of the Universities unique Professors provide help by taking the group out on ocean adventures. Adventures don't come without close calls and mishaps, as the group Shreds the surface on their watershed boards, cruise the shallows in their scuba-scooters, ride the atmosphere in aqua-spheres and explore the deep in the S.S. Blue Ring. They will come face to face with sharks and survive a giant squid attack! Along the way, Adrian the class clown, not only turns Alison's hair purple, he keeps finding strange old artifacts. Ones that seem to have mystical properties that when brought together, create a mysterious energy source, one that might be used as a weapon to use against the dead zones. Will the Research team of Surfer Joe and Scuba Scooter figure out this ancient puzzle of artifacts before it is too late? Will Alison's hair return to normal? And who is this mysterious Dr. Debris?
