There must be more to life besides drab stone walls and an existence without meaning. Buried deep underground, a human civilization lies, hiding from the unknown horrors above and leading sheltered lives. Amara lives within these tunneled halls, always wanting for something more. On her 20th birthday, she, and other girls her age, are chosen by the young men of the underground and is chosen by the worst man she could have imagined for herself-the leader's cruel and womanizing son. Before she knows it, she finds herself rapidly thrown into a life she could never want, and worse, a jail cell. However, when she meets a mysterious and otherworldly man down there, she's thrown into a new adventure she never could have predicted.
