DON WINSLOW OF THE NAVY (aka DON WINSLOW USN) was a veteran of both World Wars, and a member of Naval Intelligence. He investigated wrong-doings and battled against villains who would threaten the United States and her dominance on the high seas. DON WINSLOW was the brainchild of Lieutenant Commander Frank V. Martinek USNR and the character was originally conceived as a method of promoting recruitment to the Navy. It began as a newspaper strip in the 1930s, and was also a radio program. The comic book series reprinted newspaper strips for a time, before offering original DON WINSLOW stories beginning in 1943.
This book collects the DON WINSLOW adventures with his newspaper strips reprinted in Popular
Comics #1-27, Crackajack Comics #1-43, and then again in Popular Comics #75-84.
NOTE: The pages of these comics are in many cases weathered and aged. We work our magic to bring out the best in them, but we hope you will forgive the scrapes and scars, and appreciate their authenticity.
