As the Revolutionary war spreads, he will once again be drawn into a conflict that his heart will not let him avoid. By chance or by fate Mathew witnesses the abduction of a young Cherokee woman under very strange circumstances. He tries to convince himself that it is none of his business...and it might have succeeded if only he had not looked into those large brown doe-like eyes...eyes pleading for his help....
