Elements of Piano Technique and Applied Theory is a 12-book comprehensive series (Volumes: 1a, 1b, 1c, 2a, 2b, 2c, 3a, 3b, 3c, 4a, 4b, 4c) that covers 44 different elements and spans Late Elementary to Advanced levels. It can be used as a supplement to any curriculum or in conjunction with any method book series. Book 4c (71 pages) covers Chromatic Scales in Major and Minor Legato Thirds, Arpeggios and Broken Chords in Octaves, and Diatonic and Chromatic Scales in Legato 6ths, in 3 Units. Each unit contains theoretical discussions of each element, so students understand what they are practicing. Most importantly, in all units there are 5-10 different preparatory exercises which help a student understand how to practice each element. There is also a checklist included at the end of every book so students can track progress and set tempo related goals.
