From an art history perspective, this volume assembles case studies of the diverse processes and manifestations of emblematic strategies in contemporary art. Traditional emblematic strategies, such as the combination and juxtaposition of pictorial and textual elements, along with enigmatic aspects of codification, find their aesthetic transformation in contemporary art.
