"Energy and Sustainability V" contains the proceedings of the Fifth International Conference on Energy and Sustainability.
In recent years, interest in renewable energy resources and sustainable energy policies has been growing due to depletion of fossil fuel resources and the severe environmental effects deriving from their continuous use. Progression from an economy that is based mainly on hydrocarbons to one that takes advantage of sustainable energy resources will require massive changes and considerable scientific research, as well as the development of new engineering systems. Effecting those changes will involve collaboration between different disciplines in order to arrive at optimal solutions, including building systems, energy networks, energy storage solutions, waste to energy technologies, and many others.
It is hoped that the papers in this book, contributed from researchers from around the world from many different disciplines, will stimulate such progress.
