Lively large-scale abstract paintings reminiscent of geographical maps, inspired by Herrero's affinity for place
With their vivid colors, the paintings by Costa Rica-born, New York-based Federico Herrero (born 1978) are connected to his profound perception of humanity within nature. His mediums stretch from canvas and paper to walls, streets and even public buildings. Their large swaths of color recall the ambiguous forms of territories on a map, and Herrero has often played with the idea of geography in his oeuvre.
