Long after the battle at the changeling city ended another terrible force has taken control of the Otherworld devastating the lives of all of its inhabitants. Its impact has catastrophic effects on the members of the girls' family and on one member in particular the effects are too great to ever be forgotten. The sleeping sickness has overtaken the inhabitants of the Otherworld and fairy, Alphyn and giants alike have fallen victim to its effects. Those who haven't exist only as slaves to a new and more terrible master, one who seeks the death of the two girls and the destruction of their family. As the twists and turns of the story unfold it becomes obvious that the relationship between Jessica and Eleanor will be changed forever.
