Paige Carter is dispatched to cover a story of three men who kidnap a psychologist in order for them to improve themselves. After she interviews the kidnapped therapist, her own son is taken by her brother's obsessive girlfriend. Paige has to rely on her boyfriend Aiden, a Black Ops operator, to bring him home. She learns that sanity is acquired in a variety of forms, some of them innocuous and unsuspecting.
