The Last Kingdom Board Game
is a strategy game of war and politics for 2-5 players by John D Clair, based on the Netflix series.
Set in war-torn Britain, Saxons and Danes battle for dominance, with Wessex standing as the last stronghold against invasion. As a commander, you must navigate shifting alliances, commanding armies and making political maneuvers to secure power.
The game unfolds over two rounds, where players draft cards, control armies, and influence the war across five regions. Loyalty to Saxons or Danes can be steadfast or opportunistic, affecting both battles and scoring. Each leader provides unique advantages, and players must strategically play cards or pass to react to opponents’ moves.
Victory points are awarded based on faction alignment and influence in battles. After two rounds, the player with the most points wins.
