American history is a rich collection of both the good and the bad. Stories of inspiration, encouragement, and creativity seasoned with moments of depravity and selfishness. A nation built on both heroes and villains and sometimes people who were one in the same. This history clearly defines what the United States became as a country, but also lays out two clear paths towards our future. One leads to success and empowerment, the other towards darkness. Without a clear understanding of the country's past that roadmap becomes obscure, leaving future generations without direction.Unfortunately, the modern education system teaches history as little more than a collection of dates to be memorized. There is no understanding of the people who went before us and the importance of the decisions that they made. At best, children are taught a biased view towards American history that could have been penned by Karl Marx himself. It is truly remarkable how much we are enslaving both our children and ourselves by not studying and learning basic history.The United States of America is the best country in the world. A country blessed by being founded on the principles of freedom and liberty of the individual that no other people have been privileged to experience. It is this freedom that drives others to come to our shores to know the true blessings of freedom; a freedom that we are soon to squander.The stories inside tell the history of us.
