Saint Teresa of Calcutta - known worldwide as Mother Teresa - began her journey toward sainthood at age thirty eight when she broke out of her safe routine as a teacher and, with only five rupees to her name, began to serve in the slums of Calcutta. At the lime of her death in 1997 her Missionaries of Charity were established in more than 120 countries.
