Isaac Kofi Appiah has been a lecturer in book illustration, printing technology, product planning and estimation and production management in the Department of Publishing Studies, Faculty of Art, College of Art and Built Environment (CABE), KNUST-Kumasi for over twenty years.
He had his education at SDA Secondary School at Bekwai, Ashanti and TI Ahmadiyya Secondary School in Kumasi for
the "O" and "A" levels certificates respectively. He subsequently pursued the BA (Book Industry) degree programme as a pioneer student, PG Dip. (Industrial Management), PG Dip./MA (Art Education), all in the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi.
After his studies in Industrial Management, he took up an appointment as the Production Manager at the Assemblies of God Literature Centre Limited (AGLC Ltd.), a printing press in Accra for two years before settling as a lecturer.
Again, in 1999 he had a one year Sabbatical leave with Buck Press Limited as a Production Coordinator and another two year Sabbatical leave (from 2011-2013) with the Department of Art Education, University of Education - Winneba (UEW); and taught drawing.
It was during his teaching at UEW that the idea to put together material to aid art students was hatched.
