Two tales of captivity, written by the captives themselves. The first is "Narrative of the Captivity of William Biggs Among the Kickapoo Indians in Illinois in 1788." The second is "Narrative of the Captivity and Restoration of Mrs. Mary Rowlandson," about a colonial American woman who was captured by Native Americans during King Philip's War and held for 11 weeks before being ransomed.
