This contemplation of the birth of Christ reveals God's great promise that we are never truly alone.
Surely Mary and Joseph found comfort in that thought as they moved through the journey angels had told them to undertake. Even as they found shelter in a stable in Bethlehem and brought their child into the world, these two were surrounded by others who were moved by the mysteries lit by one very special star.
Shepherds, seers, centurions, and even kings sought answers to the meaning of one unusual birth. They were real people, with real questions, real hopes, real concerns. Some were excited, some were offended, others did not care. But all were or would be affected.
