The study examines the significance of Georges Perec's literary staging of space on three levels (paratexts, the space of the page, and narrative transgressions). It also provides a set of conceptual terms for further analysis of texts exhibiting conspicuous spatial elements - and shows that literary spatiality is a spatiality in dialogue: it refers to the reader as a decisive counterpart and thus promises to overcome the opposition of limitation and transgression.
