Alan Westbrook is living in a remote farmhouse in the Welsh hills with his family, and to supplement their income, his wife, Kirsty, has got a job at the Len Whittle Science Institute of Cardiff. Alan has offered to write the software for her project but, while at the institute he gets into arguments with some of the people there, who seem set in their ways and are reluctant to even discuss other options.
His involvement here brings his presence to the notice of other organisations, putting him in mortal danger from pressure groups. Can he influence academia without putting himself in danger.
