Excerpt from Sketches in Spain, Vol. 1: During the Years, 1829-30-31, 32
The last division of the work treats of natural history. In it will be found, an account of the forests of Spain, including the Pyrenees, and a notice of the natural tree vegetation throughout the country, with their zones or degrees of elevation, and some species either new or very little known.
A short summary of the ornithology, and a notice of the species which came under notice, of which there is none to be met. With. The conclusion is a general view of the geological structure of the greater part of Spain, a great deal of which is new, or only imperfectly known. The chap ters on forests and geology have illustrative plans to facilitate their explanation.
