When a worn-out, tired old galactic Ranger retires from the Consortium of planets, his only focus is where he can find solitude. The urge to be alone led him to the galaxy's edge and a little-known, backwater planet. He finds himself on earth in the Colorado territory in the years preceding the civil war. As the adventure takes many turns, the X-Ranger finds himself teaming up with an unlikely group of misfits who help him take on a nemesis from his home world. His lack of knowledge of the world he chose to call home adds to the humor as he discovers things aren't the same on earth.
