SPORT, HEALTH AND SOCIETY: THE INVERSION OF THE USES OF BODY TECHNIQUES AND ITS CONSEQUENCESEvery civilization has its "body techniques". These techniques enable man to live in harmony with his environment, to work and "live by the sweat of his brow". But man has managed to organize himself in such a way that he lacks nothing without necessarily having to work. The "work-leisure dualism" is the source and resource of "gymnastic and sporting activities". Documentary research, observation and reflection reveal that "gymnastics, physical education, "physical and sporting activities" or "sport" for short, all constitute a response to the concerns and aspirations of man who does not participate directly or participates little in the process of work to produce subsistence, man no longer respecting the laws of nature. "If you don't cultivate your own field, cultivate your own body".
