The Union rules everybody within the Asteroid Belt. Everybody except Samuel Bragg. After deserting the Union's military, Bragg travels to Earth and wanders a filthy city, drinking synthetic alcohol and trying to forget his past. In a seedy club he meets purple-haired dancer Dawn Kheela - just as disaster strikes. Bragg and Dawn escape, but now she's wanted too for aiding a deserter. There's only one group that can help: The Villains, an outlaw gang with a charismatic leader and a beautifully insane alien known as The Queen. Bragg and Dawn must choose between receiving "justice" from the Union or taking their chances with the criminal underworld. But the Villains have enemies, too. Hero or Villain, it's all a matter of perspective.
