In a quiet meadow along the banks of the Cocalico Creek, in a religious community established in 1732, Abel Witwer labored as a clockmaker, watchmaker, and a woodworker. Though he remains unknown by many, Witwer was one of seven clockmakers within the Ephrata Cloister. This book looks at his known clocks, including what may be the very first one he produced.
