Four foreign women have fallen in love, either with a Cretan man or with the island itself, but what happens when the honeymoon period is over?
Vicki's love of the Mediterranean has led her to abandon her glamorous lifestyle for a small village in Crete, where she settles with her Greek husband and their young daughter. She soon finds that the sun doesn't shine every day and that daily life on Crete is often far from idyllic.
Things look up when Vicki meets three other foreign women, each struggling in her own way to get to grips with the customs and social nuances of life on the island.
Vicki, Ulla, Natasha and Kathy share moments of quiet conversation, joyful celebration and nerve-racking drama. However, as the end of the millennium approaches, external pressures put a strain on their friendship and the Foreign Wives' Club begins to crumble.
