During the night the young Lord of Spring was awoken by women seeking his caress, and the promise of Spring. They were of all ages and hues. He did not remember them from the day before. Their demands were insatiable.
Orpheus was to lead all into the land of eternal Spring. That was his destiny and part of the Mysteries.
