Excerpt from The Journal of the British Archaeological Association, 1880: For the Encouragement and Prosecution of Researches Into the Arts and Monuments of the Early and Middle Ages
Persons desirous of becoming Members, or of promoting in any way the objects of the Association, are requested to apply either personally or by letter to the Secretaries; or to the Treasurer, thomas morgan, Esq, Hill Side House, Palace Road, Streatham Hill, s.w., to whom subscriptions by Post Office Order or otherwise, should be transmitted.
The payment of one guinea annually is required of the Associates, or ten guineas as a Life Subscription, by which the Subscribers are entitled to a copy of the quarterly Journal as published, and permitted to receive the publications of the Association at a reduced price.
Associates are required to pay an entrance fee of one guinea. The annual payments are due in advance.
Papers contributed to and accepted by the Association will be found in the volumes of the Journal. The Journals already published are sold at the following prices, and may be bad of the Treasurer and other officers of the Association z - Vol. 1, £2 to the Members. The subsequent volumes, £1 1 to Members; £1 11 6 to the public. The special volumes of transactions of the congresses held at winchester and at gloucester are charged to the public, £1 11 (i to the Members, £1 1.
An Index for the first thirty volumes of the Journal has been prepared by Walter de Gray Birch, Honorary Secretary. Present price to Associates, 105. 6d. To the public, 153. Subscribers' names received by the Treasurer.
