Excerpt from The Unity of the Episcopate Considered, in Reply to the Work of the Rev. T. W. Allies, Entitled, the Church of England Cleared From the Charge of Schism: Upon Testimonies and Councils of Fathers of the First Six Centuries

Demands to be furnished with proof, as though the charge could not be sustained upon any ground short of it. Catholic divines, who dissented from Bellarmine's proposition, were as strong in their condemnation of the Anglican Church as were any of their oppo nents and that upon a View of the unity and the constitution of the Church, which all were agreed in regarding as fundamental.
