"What is it that can never be taken from us yet is priceless and most desirable? What can be given and received unconditionally anytime? What is God's glue for creation? Love! "A Very Very Very Special Thing" explains love simply for anyone. God connects us to each other, to creation and to Himself through love. This is how we experience peace, joy and harmony. Love is the most Special Thing, especially for children."
In the early 2000's a family experienced one of life's devastating events: their home and belongings of several years burned to the ground. The unexpected and untimely loss of family pictures, wedding memories, keep-sakes, toys and unreplaceable personal treasures, was devastating to say the least. The family experienced shock and profound grief although thankful that no one was physically hurt.
The grief was not based solely on their loss of family possessions. The loss of not easily replaceable personal and emotional investments in journals, art, music, and family memories generated a unique fear, sadness and helplessness. Feelings of emptiness, loneliness, and the big "why" questions surfaced with few answers and few paths to recovery. These are profound feelings and most difficult to live with day-to-day, even moment-to-moment individually and as a family. This is especially true for children who might carry the grief for many many years.
Loss presents us with many different paths. And those experiencing loss usually travel many of the paths in order to accept the loss and to experience a new normal, moving forward. One of those paths is the opportunity to explore and understand what is of utmost important in life.
A Very Very Very Special Thing is a short book about God, who is Love. There are not many words and no real profound thoughts. The book attempts to be a reminder to those who believe in the one True God of what is truly important in life and the most valuable thing than can never be taken from you, only given and received.
