Queen Mercedes (Mercedes Sam-Hogu) enjoys cooking Haitian food because it is her heritage. When her family moved to South Florida from Haiti, she discovered that her mother was an amazing cook and definitely knew her way around the kitchen. Queen Mercedes sharpened her culinary skills watching her mom and those she hired to prepare the most exquisite dishes.
