Castles, churches, abbeys and shrines to be met with from day to day; and shall recall to the memory of those who pass by the valiant men who lived of old, built and defended or took the castles, used and endowed the churches, dwelt in the abbeys, and worshipped at the shrines. I have also recalled here and there an old song and fought again a lost fight. All this is no great matter, and I shall be amply repaid for my part.
