Lyon Gardiner Tyler was a noted historian, educator and author in his own right - serving as president of William and Mary College for 33 years. He wrote this pamphlet to help correct the propaganda about the South, and his father, by Northern writers and publishers. It is short, concise and should be read by every student, not only in the South, but in the United States.
