We are usually very choosy about who we call a friend. What is remarkable is that despite all of Abraham's sins and foibles, God refers to Abraham as "friend." We can discover a great deal about the God we worship as we look at the relationship he has with this early Patriarch...and as we do so, we can learn a great deal about our own relationship with him as well.
