The study shows how social reality enters into Adalbert Stifters late texts despite their artificiality. In these texts, objectivity is characterized by the absence of description. This abstract objectivity does not refer to a concretely depicted object but to the form of perception itself. This form of perception - here the work refers to Theodor W. Adorno - is mediated through social practice.
