Beth Harris is one of many apprehensive freshmen at Cypress Hollow High School. Not only are she and her friends newcomers to the school, but also to the marching band. This isn't the average marching band, though. They're a huge, award winning group with discipline and talent that Beth's never been a part of before. She and her friends have no idea if they're good enough - or if they can handle the mean seniors, endless rehearsals, difficult music, or the dozens of cute, flirty guys. Being a freshman is hard enough - will band make ninth grade better or worse?
