In volume four, the journey continues for Candy as she welcomes the early arrival of her son, Zaccariah. She is overjoyed that Zaccariah survived, but that joy is somewhat diminished by the effect his presence may have on her relationship with Alec.
Zaccariah isn't the only one who would have an effect on her relationship with Alec. Candy's ex-husband, Zac, is Zaccariah's father and Alec's brother. Would Zac finally take responsibility for Zaccariah and want to be part of their lives?
People weren't the only ones that would have an effect on Candy's relationship with Alec. The Meathos' attacks were increasing and becoming more deadly, which would put an additional strain on her relationship because Alec is her superior officer. The strange foreshadowings that her fighter shares with her would also put a strain on their relationship. She didn't want to think about what Bahlian prophecy's influence might have on her relationship, not that she put in credence in that sort of thing.
Would any of these things, or people, bring an early end to their relationship? Would it be a culmination that would end their relationship early? Or would their relationship last the entire five years before she transferred planetside with Zaccariah?
Only time could tell her that...
