Bonding with Nature helps the reader maintain the critical connection to the natural world and her creatures throughout life—even when life challenges, medical issues, trauma, or normal aging interfere. Dr. Dianna Emory describes, and supports through research, how creative approaches to interacting with nature in our home environment, local lands, state and national parks, and other green spaces can carry us through challenges, especially when combined with meaningful relationships, volunteer activities, relaxation techniques, visualization, exercise, and healthy food. She addresses these wellness components and creates a template for use in any environment, using two national parks and related color photographs as models. As a childhood cancer survivor, the natural world taught Dr. Emory from an early age to use its healing powers, while simultaneously giving back to living things and their habitats. She went on to pass those skills on to patients, physicians, and mental health providers through her clinical practice, consultations, and presentations.
