Primarily used for baking bread, he was testing out how it might treat chicken. So, he would coat chicken pieces with yogurt, skewer them and place them in the tandoor...Tandoori Chicken came to be. Butter, here is where it gets better. To avoid letting leftover tandoori chicken get dry, he crafted a rich, silky (thank you, butter) tomato- and onion-based sauce with which he could enliven the meat, and thus was born the beloved Butter Chicken.
