Book three of Jolie's coming-of-age chronicles brings her tale to conclusion. In book one she struggles to find guidance for her psychic gifts, brushing Wiccan practices. In book two she finds other people who see spirits and learns from them about the Red Road. In book three she is introduced to Taoist philosophy and practices discovering the strength within herself and the foundation of trust upon which she can move forward.
