productions from 1978 featuring, among others, co-producer
Augustus Pablo
. No other bandmembers are credited, but one could likely draw from a pool of usual suspects.
Prince Jammy
is at the controls here and from track to track, seems uncommitted to any one particular vibe. These versions vary quite a bit with regards to the utilization of delay and general trickery. Some are more active than others --
"Clean Sweep,"
"Jah Dub,"
and
"Santic Dub,"
for example -- but none of them reach the ridiculous psychedelic heights many have come to expect from a
Jammy
production. Regardless, these are exceptionally solid rockers tracks striped to the bone and as deep as any in the genre. ~ Brandon Burke
