Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay was a prominent Bengali novelist. Most of his writings have been comprehensively translated in Hindi language. He was born on 15 th September 1876 in a small village, debanandpur of Hooghly district of West Bengal. Throughout his life, Sarat Chandra was extremely influenced by Rabindranath Tagore and Bankimchandra Chattopadhyay.
