A long-favored fixture of winter festivals in the Netherlands, Poffertjes are light, puffy, miniature pancakes that are traditionally served with a bit of butter and powdered sugar. They require a highly specialized skillet called a poffertjespan to attain their snackable size—in the spirit of foodie festivity, and in recognition of the fact that most of us don’t have a spare poffertjespan lying around, we proliferated on Poffertjes’ perfection by adding sweet Chocolate Chips to this delightfully sweet and one-or-two-bite size treat. 

Our Poffertjes take less than a minute to heat in the microwave. They can be topped with melted butter and a sprinkling of powdered sugar, drizzled with maple syrup, or served with a dollop of Organic Maple Butter, depending on your mood. Portionable enough to be enjoyed as a quick snack or single-serve dessert, we particularly enjoy Poffertjes on a breakfast buffet alongside savory TJ's Chicken Breakfast Sausages and soft scrambled eggs.
