Originally recorded as a gift for lead singer/songwriter ' girlfriend, 's 2008 EP, , caught on with listeners and launched the band's career. Recorded by before he added a live touring ensemble for the band's full-length 2009 album, , nonetheless showcases the band's knack for highly infectious electronic-infused pop. Although "Sleepyhead" was included on , the EP is worth picking up and such cuts as "Smile Upon Me," "Live to Tell the Tale," and "Better Things" are as catchy and melodic as anything the band would do later. ~ Matt Collar
