With a release date that unfortunately coincided with widespread COVID-19 closures in March of 2020, 's ninth album, , was accompanied by a canceled tour and unexpected time at home. After giving some thought to what he wanted to do with that time, bandmember realized that he relished both collaboration and having the chance to play guitar on his own. The resulting semi-collaborative project, , emerges from this time period with a debut album, , that features songs begun by as early as 2016 as well as newly fashioned collaborations. A project steeped in nostalgia, affection, and an appreciation for early musical inspirations, the moniker refers to both iconic Memphis label and to the passage of time. A stylistically fluctuating set, it touches on rockabilly ("Last Night I Dreamt That I Met Phil & Don"), folk-rock (the affectionate title duet), psychedelic pop/rock ("Slipping Away"), and modern indie, all tied together by guitar tones and a bittersweet tunefulness matched by guests with similar musical strengths who stopped by Stockholm to record with . Reportedly the product of jamming together, the joyous, -themed "Last Night I Dreamt That I Met Phil & Don" (exactly what the song is about) was devised with ' , who provides typically breezy accompaniment. Elsewhere, "Slipping Away" is a skittering, surf-washed noir bop with a radio-friendly chorus sure to get toes tapping. The bulk of the album, however, opts for earnest, effects pedals-bolstered balladry, beginning with the opening title track, a tender love duet with indie folk musician . Its guttural, echo-heavy melodic guitar provides a third voice. goes on to blend more of those subaqueous guitar lines with vibraphone on rock ballads like "Day to Day Way" and "Granddad's Song," the latter a collaboration with . Finally compelling fans to strike up their cigarette lighters after several more touching downtempo entries, the album closes with the spare "Wake Up!," featuring and , who harmonize a plea to recognize one's own dreams instead of chasing another's. While maybe not for dedicated cynics, 's sentimentality and full-hearted affection are lifted throughout by a tunefulness and musicianship that make even an instrumental like "Two Birds, Mid-Flight" come and go seamlessly in the track list. ~ Marcy Donelson
