Posluschny's thesis on the nature of Hallstatt settlements in Germany moves the focus away from high-status forts and burial sites to look at evidence for settlements in a triangular region between Karlstadt, Wuerzburg, Kitzingen and Schweinfurt in southern Germany. The emphasis of the largely theoretical study is on the analysis of findspots revealed by GIS survey, almost 750 of which are catalogued in the second half of the book and on an included CD-Rom.
