What is and what can art do? The author pleads for a new posing of the central questions of philosophical aesthetics in the outcome of the question about the objectivity of the aesthetic. She begins by questioning the objectivist misunderstanding formulated in the philosophical tradition by reflecting on its roots and confronting it with three paradigmatic works of art of the avant-garde.
