When looking for a devotional, I'm not looking for quaint thoughts that can be found in a Hallmark Card. I'm looking for someone who has walked the walk, towed the line, and has lived in the trenches. This is why I'm thankful for Andy Pruitt. After decades of ministry and journaling, he compiles his time-tested thoughts and shares great insight that is a great compliment to the reading of Scripture. "Diving In" is also incredibly practical. It contains a Bible Reading plan, journal notes, and memorable quotes. All in all, it's exactly what I look for; and I hope you find it useful as well.

I have read many devotion books over the years and Andy Pruitt's Diving In ranks among the best I have ever read. This Devotion/Bible Reading Plan is an excellent resource to establish a routine of daily Bible reading and a time to process and journal how God is speaking to us through His Word. It could easily be adapted for use in family devotions. The devotions offer an excellent springboard to stimulate family discussions. The quotations used throughout are appropriate to the subject being discussed and add an interesting component. I highly recommend this book.
