Deirdre MacKenzie is the leader of Baltimore's Sorcerers and a Special Agent for the Bureau of Paranatural Investigations. She works with her Baltimore Police Department detective partner Joseph Lupelli and their Cold Cases Team trying to solve paranatural homicides. The last thing Deirdre expects on a night out on the town is to end up magically bound to the Vampire Spymaster of the City, Deacon. Deirdre and Deacon also have to face the rising tide of paranatural crime in their City. The Malunos, the allied enemy supernaturals, may be about to try and take Baltimore for themselves. When a hit is put out on Deirdre, the Vampires' Warleader Vincent begins to suspect all is not right with the local supernatural leaders, especially his own. Deirdre's world is turned upside down by the discovery that she's carrying the daughter of Vincent's Patron God, Thor. Magic is running wild in the City and as every Sorcerer knows, playing with the Dragon's Fire can be extremely dangerous.
